On Saturday my husband and I went to see the movie, War Room and my, what a movie! I laughed, I cried, I praised, and I cried again! Why you might asked? Because the message of the movie resonated with me in my relationship with God and my desire to be a role model to other women. Clara, one of the main characters was a prayer warrior who also wanted to reach other women to change their families for Christ. (That's all I'm going to write about the movie so I won't ruin it for those who have yet to watch it 😀).
It is not uncommon to go to any church and hear someone being referred to as a prayer warrior. In my experience, it has been an older woman (senior adult), who is widowed, single, who has children that are adults, and usually live alone! However, I have met some who are married, with children still living at home, some who are young adults, and some who are males! My question is, why are they referred to as prayer warriors? Is it because they are born-again believers; can quote the scriptures at any given moment, for any given situation and with an authority and conviction that compels you to believe! or is it because they are at church every time the doors are open;
A resounding YES! Prayer Warriors are men and women who have a personal, intimate relationship with God as their "Daddy God!" They have a love for Daddy God and an assurance that His Word is His bond that may sometimes come across as arrogance! Prayer warriors are men and women just like me and you with everyday trials and triumphs. They are not so “super-spiritual” that it is difficult for the “common” person to speak with them. No, they do not quote scriptures every time you talk to them BUT they will give you a scripture if you are in need of one! More importantly, prayer warriors know when a situation is an attack of the enemy (John 10:10)!
Let me close by saying this, there is no secret or special anointing to be a prayer warrior. When you take the time to read His Word (the Bible) so often that you begin to memorize certain portions of it. I promise you that your love for God will grow and as your love for Him grows, so will your love for people! From my personal experience I have found that when faced with or walking through situations orchestrated by the enemy, praying as a warrior in battle has resulted in breakthroughs or answered prayers!
There is a time to speak or confess, a time to praise, and a time to do warfare when praying! Let me encourage you to know the difference but to practice doing ALL!
Blessings and Peace!
